The developers of Streets of Rage 4 have released a behind-the-scenes video detailing the team’s vision.

In this behind-the-scenes look at Streets of Rage 4, developers from Dotemu and Guard Crush Games discuss how their love of fighting games led to the title’s development.

According to the developers, Streets of Rage 2 is the benchmark, while other fighting games such as Street Fighter 3: Third Strike, Virtua Fighter, Guardian Heroes, and Sengoku 3 provided inspiration.

Streets of Rage 4 is the first core entry in more than 25 years and will feature new playable fighters alongside Alex and Blaze brawling it out in a new art style.

Alex got some hands-on time with it back in August, and said it was “bloody amazing.”

Currently in development with Dotemu, Lizardcube, and Guard Crush Games, it will arrive on PC, PS4, Switch, and Xbox One in 2020.
